National Day Renewal Season: A Countertop and Vanity Upgrade Guide
1. The Three Stone Surfaces Most Worth Renewing
① Kitchen countertop: the hardest-working surface in the house. Old engineered tops commonly crack, stain and yellow after five to eight years — priority number one for renewal;
② Bathroom vanity top: constant moisture makes joints mold and discolor; a single-piece stone top looks seamless and is far easier to clean;
③ Door thresholds and window sills: small area, low cost, but they set the first impression at every entrance and windowsill — the best value upgrade.

2. Choosing the Right Material
For kitchen tops, prefer dense and stable natural stone: Eurasian White, Maya Gray and Italian Gray offer clean veining and scratch resistance, and perform excellently with sealer; warm Cappuccino suits vintage and light-luxury styles. Note: porous travertine is not recommended for kitchen countertops — it is better for wall cladding and dry bathroom areas. For white marble, simply develop the habit of wiping colored spills promptly.
3. The Renewal Process in Five Steps
① On-site or photo-based measurement, confirming dimensions, upstands and cutouts for hob and sink; ② view slabs at the factory or by video, choose the exact slab and photograph it for the record; ③ cutting, edge profiling and polishing with cutouts pre-made from the drawing; ④ careful removal of the old top with cabinet and wall protection, then level and install the new one; ⑤ avoid heavy load and water for 24 hours after installation, then apply stone sealer.
4. Common Pitfalls to Avoid
Never choose stone from photos alone — natural veining varies greatly, so confirm the actual slab. Do not underestimate upstand height and cutout precision; rework is expensive. If the cabinet frame is deformed after removing the old top, repair it before installing stone. Budget stays controllable: small tops are priced on slab utilization, and buying from a source factory removes most of the middle cost.
5. The Holiday Is the Perfect Renewal Window
Around the National Day holiday the weather is dry — the golden window for cutting, installation and curing — and with spare holiday time, measuring, slab viewing and installation can be completed in one smooth sequence. JINHAO STONE stocks full slabs of Maya Gray, Cappuccino, Eurasian White, Italian Gray, Baikal and Milk White Travertine; on-site measurement is available in Guangdong, with video slab viewing and direct logistics for clients elsewhere.
